Your Guide to Fall at Valley Simsbury
Welcome to the family! This fall, Valley Simsbury will supplement our spirit-filled worship on Sundays with several events and opportunities to connect with one another and to be the church for our community. Here's your complete guide to what's happening in this next season; check back to this spot for additions and updates.
Special Event: Christian Illusionist Show
Experience a night of wonder for the entire family as illusionist David Laflin returns to Avon for another night of mind-bending tricks and eternal truths! This time, three years after his show sold out the Sanctuary at Valley, David is joined by his family for a new performance on the stage at Avon High School on Friday, October 29.
- Tickets are $8 for ages 16 and older, $5 for kids ages 3-15, and free for kids 2 and under. Every person must have a ticket, and all tickets are General Admission.
- Doors open at 6:15 p.m.; pre-show video begins at 6:30 p.m.
- Masks are required at all times inside Avon High School, regardless of vaccination status.
- Please plan to arrive early; an Avon High School Football game is taking place at the same time. You will be directed to park in the back lot, which is close to the school entrance and the theater.
Worship Services: Sundays at 10 a.m.
We're excited to continue our worship services at The Master's School this fall! We will remain outdoors until the weather moves us indoors. Meanwhile, we're making plans to improve our worship experience in the gym. The setting for our kids classes will get a major upgrade this fall, when we move both the preschool and elementary gatherings to age-appropriate classrooms at Master's.
Ready to serve? Our worship services simply don't happen without dedicated volunteer teams creating a great experience each week. Click here to find out what role might fit you best!
As always, we will livestream our worship services to our YouTube channel and Facebook page. Join us in person or online each Sunday!
Join a Group!
Being in a small group is essential to grow your faith! God made us for relationship -- with Him and with others. This fall, let's love and care for one another through our Simsbury small groups. If you are not yet part of a group and want to find out more, email or simply see Pastor Mark or Bob McPeak. We have three kinds of groups at Valley Simsbury:
Valley Simsbury Neighbor Groups serve two purposes: love one another and love our neighbors. Neighbor groups are mixed groups of more than five people, and can consist of several families or households. They meet regularly to support and encourage each other, and also serve our neighbors, reaching out to them where they live, work, and play.
Men's and Women's Groups
Valley Simsbury has several men's and women's groups (formerly called "DNA Groups"). These gatherings consist of 3-5 men or women who focus on discipling each other as they grow in Christ. Members of a men's or women's group lean into each other's lives with care and intention, frequently developing close relationships as they travel on their faith journey together.
Classes and Gatherings
Valley Simsbury holds recurring classes and gatherings, as well as special multi-week classes throughout the year.
ZOOM PRAYER GATHERING
Each Wednesday at 7 a.m., Valley Simsbury gather on Zoom for 30 minutes to pray for our people, our church, and our community. Drop in on any Wednesday! Click here for the Zoom link.
HOLY STRETCH AND STRENGTH
This weekly gathering will refresh and restore you through breath and movement exercises, as led by a trained instructor. It's just right for your body AND your soul! There's no need to sign up; we are currently rescheduling the class and are hoping to hold it in the evenings at Valley Avon. Stay Tuned!
Starting October 10th! Would you be interested in a six-week class, held before the worship service, that's specifically for people new to the faith or who have basic questions about Christianity? "Starting Point" is an interactive discussion about the basics of what we believe -- and no question is off-limits! If you're interested or curious, see Pastor Mark or email .
Just For Kids and Students
In addition to our Sunday classes for kids in Grade 5 and under, we partner with Valley Avon's ministry teams to provide terrific midweek experiences for all of our youth and their friends.
