Your Guide to Fall at Valley Simsbury

IT’S “GO” TIME! Jesus’ final words were: “Go make disciples.” We’re excited to join Him in the mission to transform lives and neighborhoods this fall. Our motto is “Life Together. On Mission. For God’s Glory.” As you engage this fall, this guide will provide snapshots into some of the environments for our church family. If you have questions, email us at  , or stop by the Welcome and Connections desk after a service.

Fall Teaching Series: "Build My House"

Do you ever wonder: “What am I meant to do? How can I make a meaningful impact? How can I serve God’s purpose in my generation?” The books of Ezra and Nehemiah tell the story of a people who returned to Jerusalem and did just that. They were called to rebuild God’s city. They reestablished His way of life and worship, bringing revival to God’s people in a land that had been overrun with rebellious scoundrels and empty idols.

Similarly, we are called to build “God’s house” -- to rebuild our communities with the presence of God and people who serve King Jesus. To reestablish His way of life and worship in our homes and our communities.

This series will challenge your life purpose. It will clarify why you’re here and how you can serve God’s purpose in your generation. God has an epic plan for us in our time and place. Let’s build His house together!

"Build My House" continues this Sunday during the worship service at Henry James Memorial School

Adult Groups

Being in a small group is essential to grow your faith! God made us for relationship -- with Him and with others. This fall, let's love and care for one another through our Simsbury small groups. If you are not yet part of a group and want to find out more, email  or simply see Pastor Mark. We have three kinds of groups at Valley Simsbury:

Neighbor Groups

Valley Simsbury Neighbor Groups serve two purposes: love one another and love our neighbors. Neighbor groups are mixed groups of more than five people, and can consist of several families or households. They meet regularly to support and encourage each other, and also serve our neighbors, reaching out to them where they live, work, and play.

Men's and Women's Groups

Valley Simsbury has several men's and women's groups (formerly called "DNA Groups"). These gatherings consist of 3-5 men or women who focus on discipling each other as they grow in Christ. Members of a men's or women's group lean into each other's lives with care and intention, frequently developing close relationships as they travel on their faith journey together.

Care Groups

Several care groups meet regularly to help one another get through the trials and hurdles of life. Here are three popular groups meeting at either Valley Simsbury or Valley Avon:

DivorceCare: The next 13-session group begins Monday, September 18, at Valley Simsbury Headquarters (3 Mill Pond Lane from 7-8:30 p.m.. Get help with healing from the pain of divorce. Cost is $15. Click here to sign up.

Prayer at Valley Simsbury

We believe prayer is pivotal to everything we are and do. We maintain three spheres of prayer at Valley Simsbury:

Prayer at Sunday Services

The prayer team hands out prayer cards as you enter the worship service. The team is available to pray with people individually and privately when the service ends.

Prayer Team

The prayer team stays connected during the week and prays as needs are shared. Join the prayer team or share prayer requests at our Valley Prayer page on the website.

Prayer Movements

The call to pray occurs several times a year, including special “Pray Days” and “21 Days of Prayer.”
