Opportunities for High School Students

Camp Overview:

Epic Adventure is a summer day camp based at The Master's School campus in Simsbury, Connecticut. Operated by high-energy leaders and overseen by Valley Community Baptist Church - Simsbury, the camp consists of two programs — one for students currently in Grades 1-4 (July 8-12, 2024), and the other for students in Grades 5-8 (July 15-19, 2024). The Master’s School property is beautiful, spanning 75 acres and complete with a gymnasium, dining hall, athletic fields, hiking trails, and adventurous terrain. The camp for Grades 5-8 will also take special day trips to adventure parks on Tuesday and Thursday. Students will learn about the "Epic Journey" God has for their lives as they debrief activities and engage in “team talks” throughout the week.

Camp Staff & Counselor Overview:

The camp staffing structure will include a camp director, program director, and high school camp counselors (age 16+). We are committed to the spiritual, mental, physical, and social growth of all participants and staff leaders. Safety and fun are pivotal to an epic adventure.

Camp counselors will join a leadership development track designed to equip the team with leadership skills, spiritual growth aptitudes, safety protocols, and training activities foundational to their role. Significant to this training and preparation will be an overnight Prep Retreat in Simsbury on Thursday, June 20 (9 a.m.) - Friday, June 21 (5 p.m.).

Counselor Pay/Stipends

Counselors who are 16+ years of age will receive a $500 stipend for each week of camp. The stipend will be paid at the end of their last week of camp.
